It is a calm evening. After school, a boy named Kerim sits at the kitchen table to do his homework.
His mother is cooking dinner nearby, and the warm smell fills the room.
Kerim looks at one problem and frowns.
He cannot understand it.
His mother notices and says,
“Do you want me to explain it?”
Kerim nods.
She sits next to him and shows the steps slowly.
Kerim listens carefully, tries again, and finally finishes the problem.
“I did it!” he says proudly.
His mother smiles and pats his shoulder.
The evening continues quietly as they work and talk together.
