Once upon a time, in a quiet Turkmen village, two children named Arslan and Melek prepared for a special day. They were going to visit their grandfather, who lived near the wide, open plains where Ahalteke horses were raised. These horses were famous for their beauty, speed, and shiny golden coats. The children were excited because they always loved spending time with their grandfather and his animals.
Early in the morning, Arslan and Melek woke up, washed their faces, and put on comfortable clothes. Their mother gave them warm bread and apples for the trip. Then they walked along the dusty road that led to their grandfather’s home. The air was cool, and soft sunlight touched the village fields.
Grandfather was waiting for them outside. He wore his traditional telpek and greeted them with a big smile. Without wasting time, he led them toward the horse area behind his house. The children’s eyes grew wide as they saw the tall Ahalteke horses standing proudly under the bright sky.
One horse had a golden coat that shone like sunlight. Another had a dark, smooth coat that looked like polished stone. Grandfather gently touched the nearest horse and explained how strong and loyal Ahalteke horses were. Arslan listened carefully, imagining himself riding one across the open plains. Melek loved the way the horses moved—elegant and calm.
Grandfather allowed the children to brush the horses’ shiny coats. Arslan brushed slowly, while Melek talked softly to a younger horse. The horses relaxed, enjoying the gentle care. After brushing, Grandfather showed the children how to offer food safely. The horses ate quietly from their hands.
When the sun began to set, the sky turned orange and pink. The children thanked their grandfather for the wonderful day. As they walked home, they felt happy and proud. They knew that Ahalteke horses were not just animals—they were a beautiful part of their country’s history.
