Kerim and the Watermelon Surprise - Iňlis dili Gysga hekaýa

Every summer, Kerim visits his grandfather’s small garden behind the house. The garden is full of green plants, soft soil, and long vines that stretch across the ground. One hot afternoon, Kerim notices something large and round hiding under the leaves. He gently lifts the leaves and smiles brightly—it is a big watermelon, almost ready to pick.

Kerim runs to call his grandfather. Together, they check the watermelon by tapping it softly.

“It sounds ready,” Grandfather says with a warm smile.

They carefully cut the watermelon from the vine and carry it inside. Kerim washes it in a bowl of cool water, and then Grandfather slices it open. The inside is bright red and juicy.

Kerim takes a bite, and sweet juice drips down his chin.

“This is the best watermelon ever!” he says happily.

Grandfather laughs and pats his shoulder.

“You helped it grow,” he says. “That makes it special.”
