One quiet autumn morning, the old city library was filled with soft sunlight. Dusty bookshelves, long wooden tables, and the warm smell of paper made the place feel peaceful. Melek, a university student, visited the library every weekend. She enjoyed studying there because the silence helped her focus, and the atmosphere always felt comforting.
As Melek settled into her favorite corner, she noticed a young man at a nearby table. He was tall, gentle-looking, and slightly shy. His name was Arslan, though she didn’t know it yet. When he tried to organize a heavy stack of books, one of them slipped from his hands and fell to the floor. Melek quickly picked it up and handed it to him with a friendly smile.
Arslan looked surprised but grateful. Melek returned to her seat, and after a moment, Arslan walked over and whispered, “Thank you.”
They discovered they were studying the same subject: Turkmen history. Soon they began sharing notes, switching books, and helping each other understand difficult topics. They didn’t talk much, but every short exchange felt warm and comfortable.
Hours passed quietly. Outside, the sky slowly turned orange as evening arrived. When Melek closed her notebook to leave, Arslan gathered his courage. He approached her again and said softly, “Would you… like to drink tea together someday?”
Melek felt a small flutter in her heart. She smiled and nodded. “Yes, I would.”
From that day on, they met at the library every week. First they studied, then they talked about books, dreams, and life. What began as a simple moment—one fallen book—slowly grew into a gentle connection.
Melek later thought to herself,
“Sometimes love begins in the quietest places.”
