In the evening, after a long day, a young boy starts getting ready for bed.
He looks at the clock on the wall.
It is nine o’clock, his bedtime.
He goes to the bathroom, washes his face, and brushes his teeth.
Then he changes into his soft pajamas.
The room is quiet, and the lights are warm and gentle.
His mother comes in to check on him.
She fixes his blanket and smiles softly.
“Good night,” she says.
The boy climbs into his bed and hugs his small toy.
He closes his eyes and thinks about the day.
A few minutes later, he is fast asleep.
The night feels peaceful and safe.
