Spring Days in the Garden - Iňlis dili Gysga hekaýa

Spring has arrived in Turkmenistan, and the weather is warm and pleasant. The trees are growing new green leaves, the flowers are blooming, and the air smells fresh. Melek and her younger brother Azat love spring because they can spend more time outside. One sunny afternoon, they decide to visit their grandfather, who has a beautiful garden behind his house.

When they arrive, their grandfather is already in the garden, watering the plants. He smiles and says,

“Welcome, my children! Spring is the best time to help flowers grow.”

Melek looks around with excitement. She sees colorful tulips, roses, and small fruit trees. Birds are singing happily from the branches. Azat picks up a watering can and says proudly,

“Grandfather, I want to help too!”

Their grandfather laughs softly and shows them how much water each plant needs. Melek waters the roses carefully, and Azat waters the small trees. Sometimes he gives too much water, and Melek giggles,

“Not too much, Azat! The tree will get tired!”

After watering the garden, they plant new flower seeds together. Grandfather digs small holes, Melek places the seeds inside, and Azat covers them gently with soil.

“In a few weeks, these will become beautiful flowers,” the grandfather explains.

When they finish, they sit under a big apricot tree to rest. The soft spring wind moves the leaves above them. Grandfather brings freshly made çal and a plate of dried apricots.

“Spring always brings new life,” he says. “Just like these flowers, you two grow a little more every year.”

Melek and Azat smile. They enjoy their snack and listen to the birds singing. Before going home, they promise their grandfather that they will return next week to see how the garden is changing.

As they walk back, Melek whispers,

“I love spring. Everything feels new and alive.”

Azat nods. “Me too. And I love helping in the garden!”
