Today Kerim visits his grandfather’s house after school. His grandfather is in the garden, watering the flowers. Kerim walks outside and says, “Can I help you, Grandpa?”
His grandfather smiles and gives him a small watering can. “Of course, you can help,” he says. Kerim carefully waters the roses while his grandfather watches. The garden smells fresh and peaceful.
After watering the plants, they sit under a small tree. Kerim’s grandfather tells him a short story about how he planted the garden many years ago. Kerim listens with interest.
Before going home, Kerim picks one flower and gives it to his grandfather.
His grandfather says, “Thank you, my boy.”
